Description

We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable part-time Pilates instructor with experience supporting older adults with limited mobility and other rheumatic conditions. The ideal candidate will tailor sessions to meet individual abilities and goals while working closely with our clinical staff to ensure exercises are safe, effective, and aligned with patient treatment plans.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Lead one-on-one Pilates sessions tailored to clients with limited mobility and chronic joint or muscle conditions
• Modify exercises for safety and accessibility, focusing on core strength, posture, joint stability, and functional movement
• Collaborate with physical therapist and medical staff to support continuity of care and patient progress
• Educate clients on proper movement mechanics and body awareness
• Monitor client response to exercises and adjust programming as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation of sessions and communicate progress with the clinical team
• Contribute to a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive environment

Qualifications:

• Certified Pilates instructor with formal training in Reformer Pilates
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with older adults or individuals with chronic health conditions
• Knowledge of rheumatic diseases (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis) and their impact on movement preferred
• Ability to assess and modify movement for joint limitations, fatigue, and pain management
• Excellent communication, patience, and empathy
• Comfortable working in a clinical or medical environment
